Contract Manufacturing Engineer Job Description

A) Demonstrated knowledge and experience In:

DETAIL PROCESS PLANNING : Determine requirements to manufacture a
part from raw material to finish component including specifying the process or method, speeds and feeds, tooling, fixturing, and gauging requirements.
MACHINING OPERATIONS: In-depth understanding of machining
operations, processes, and equipment in a repetitive mid to high volume production environment. Understanding of and/or experience in lean manufacturing supporting a daily build/ship schedule.

PROCESS CONTROL AND QUALITY ASSURANCE: Basic understanding of
SPC, gauging design and application, process capability studies and analysis,
geometric design and tolerancing.

CAPACITY PLANNING: Including productivity measurements, determining
manpower and equipment requirements, material flow and workplace layouts.
Experience in a union environment is preferred.

PROCESS DOCUMENT/INFORMATION: Generate appropriate
manufacturing documents, detailed instruction sheets, work measurement standards, and process specifications to support the manufacturing operation

CNC MANUFACTURING: Experience with CNC equipment in a repetitive
production environment and basic understanding of CNC programming.

COMPUTER LITERACY: Familiar with PC environment and user of basic
software applications (Excel, Word, MS Project, etc.).
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
