This job includes providing exceptional customer service, conducting member transactions which include opening and closing of accounts, withdrawals, deposits, loan payments and check cashing, helping members with concerns, cross-selling credit union products and services to meet monthly goals and accurately balancing a cash drawer.
Under specific direction, provides a variety of member services in savings and consumer lending. When the Branch Supervisor is absent, acts in capacity of Branch Supervisor. This is a full time position; evening and weekend hours are required.
The incumbent of this role will:
Provide general guidance and advice to teller staff to provide the efficient handling of member needs and transactions.
Assist in the ongoing training and development of tellers to provide the expertise necessary to perform duties effectively and promote within organization.
Coaching and following disciplinary procedures to manager tellers effectively.
Cross-sell all services offered by the Credit Union. Answer member inquiries regarding savings and loan programs, and counsel members with problems that cannot be resolved by the tellers. Direct specific questions to the appropriate departments.
Perform consumer lending functions such as; interviewing, closing, and processing duties.
Perform all duties of teller, including vault teller.
Handle special member requests such as IRA''s, Certificates of Deposit, direct deposit, and transfers of deceased members.
Open and close the branch as needed.
Perform miscellaneous duties as required.
Responsible for proper records and reports for branch activity.
Check approval authority at manager''s discretion.
Serve as Notary Public.
Qualifications:
Education/
Experience: Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: Education equivalent to a high school degree. A minimum of at least six months experience in a credit union or other financial institution. Prior lending and teller experience very helpful.
Ability to operate routine office equipment; typing at 35 words per minute minimum.
Must have demonstrated ability to interpret and explain Credit Union policy and transactions posted to members'' accounts and to adhere to policy.
Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services offered to membership and demonstrated ability to cross-sell/refer such services effectively.
Interpersonal skills to represent Credit Union positively in dealing with members and teller transactions.
Ability to exercise judgment, initiative and tact in dealing with management, supervisors, and staff.
Must present a professional, business-like appearance and manner.
Must maintain confidentiality.
Must be bondable.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
