Our client is seeking a client located in Menomonee Falls, WI for the position of Sr. R&D; Technician. The Senior Technician''s primary role is to fabricate and assemble components necessary to build prototypes and test fixtures for assigned product groups or other areas of expertise as well as competitive equipment. This work will be performed with little supervision or guidance. This position is a resource for training other employees for assigned product groups and areas of expertise. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Prototype Construction 30%:
Assembles, tests and/or fabricates components for prototypes; This includes the installation and layout of electronic/electrical/hydraulic systems, machining lathe/mill work for prototype machines or the use/installation of sensors and transducers such as accelerometers and strain gage equipment
Uses appropriate equipment to complete assigned duties.
Test Validation 30%:
Performs tests to determine or verify performance characteristics. This may include torque, horsepower, hydraulic pressure, voltage, current, sound, force, strain, vibration, and temperature
Utilizes inspection instrumentation, machine programming validation, construction of tooling and machining fixtures and data reduction for analysis
Documentation 20%:
Maintains detailed test logs for components on test using PC based software
Creates detailed test reports and data summaries with minimal guidance
Competitive Evaluation 10%:
Inspects and conducts performance evaluations on competitive equipment
Product Training 10%:
Communicates to production and service personnel with any quality and/or production issues
Provides necessary instruction to production and service personnel regarding new product releases and updates
Safety:
Performs all job functions is a safe manner and maintains safety awareness
Reports known accidents, injuries and unsafe practices and/or conditions to supervisor
An Associate''s Degree in a related technical field. A Bachelor''s Degree Engineering is preferred
A minimum of 7 years of experience in an electro/mechanical manufacturing environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
A valid driver''s license
Professional Engineer Certificate is preferred
