Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner - NE in collaboration with a physician, provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.
Responsibilities:
Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
Education &
Experience:
Minimum five years clinical nursing experience or equivalent required.
Master Degree of Nursing with focus on preparation for Nurse Practitioner role required by date of hire.
Completion of state-approved advanced practice training program required by date of hire.
Licenses & Certifications:
Current certification by a national certifying body approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner required by date of hire.
Current certification to issue prescriptive orders in the state of Wisconsin,
Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration and current National Provider Identification Number (NPI) required by date of hire.
American Heart Association (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider required by date of hire or June 1, 2014.
Current Wisconsin licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse Perscriber (APNP) required by date of hire.
Current Wisconsin or multi-state/compact state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required by date of hire.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
